The Day It Started

Our story

Let us take you on a trip down memory lane, where it all began. It was the first day of the sixth grade, and we both were coincidentally placed next to each other in math class. What we didn’t know then, was that we would become best friends. Through our many years of close friendship, we connected over our shared passion to make a positive impact on the world. Our dreams of becoming doctors, our personal experiences, and our ethnic backgrounds were the driving force to create a meaningful change.

The idea simmered and evolved during late-night calls, endless brainstorming sessions, and a shared determination to address the pressing issue of poor healthcare in rural areas around the world. The more we learned about how many underdeveloped countries in the world lack the access to necessary healthcare, the more we felt an undeniable call to action. We believe that every individual should have quality healthcare, regardless of their economic state. Health care is a basic human need, and should not be considered a luxury. And so, armed with enthusiasm, a driving passion, and a whole lot of heart, we took a leap of faith, and Hospital Empowerment Network was born.

Starting a nonprofit was not just about forming an organization, it was about connecting with our community to join our efforts to help the people that need it the most. And so with a plan in mind, we pooled our resources, reached out to experts, and navigated through a labyrinth of paperwork and logistics that comes with starting something from scratch. But we embraced it every step of the way because every obstacle was met with resilience and every setback with a lesson. We learned quickly that this journey was not always going to be smooth sailing, but rather that the challenges would guide us towards a stronger, more impactful vision. 

Today, the Hospital Empowerment Network stands as a testament to the power of passion, collaboration, and shared commitment to connecting with people and making the world a better place. 

As we reflect on our journey so far, we’re filled with gratitude for our support system that has made our wild aspirations and our young and crazy dreams possible. Whether you’ve been with us from the start or are just joining the adventure, you are an integral part of not only our story but also the lives of many.
